All the tools and fun of DART Karaoke Studio
Plus - record CD+G discs for Karaoke machines
Plus - create CD+G files for software CD+G Players
Features:
- Record from CD+G discs (rip) for CD audio AND graphics (BIN files) or just audio (WAV files)
- Compile and burn custom CD+G discs
- .CD+G player
- Add your own lead-in graphics to the CD+G disc or individual tracks
- Customize display of lyrics colors, refresh style and fonts
- Duet "Flags": allows you to distinguish the parts to be sung by different singers and/or by both singers. Different singers can be placed either on the right, center or left side of the screen. And, each singer (or both) can have their own unique color scheme.
- Pitch Shifter: allows you to change pitch of the "Soundtrack" audio file used for DART Karaoke projects (*.dkx files) or CD+G tracks (*.bin files). (note: the Pitch Shift tool can not be used to change the pitch of live microphone input or existing CD+G tracks (*.bin files).
- Far Eastern (Unicode) language support: allows users to enter different characters used in Far Eastern written languages, which can then be built into *.bin files for burning custom CD+G CDs in any Unicode supported font/language. (note: this feature requires Windows XP/2000, or a Far East version Windows 9x, in addition to the use of an "IME" (Input Method Editor) utility, available as a free download via Microsoft.)
- "Insert silence": allows users to insert a section of silence into an "Soundtrack" audio file, at any point in the file (beginning, end or cursor location).
- "Cut": allows you to remove a section of an audio file.
- "Shift flags": allows user to shift the positions of all, or a group, of synchronization "Flags" by a specified amount of time. You can also simply hold down your "Shift" key and slide all of your flags forward or backward in time, keeping intact the position of the flags, in relation to each other.
- End CD+G track image: now users can add a unique image file to either the front or end of a CD+G track (*.bin file). You can also set each image to be displayed for a specific amount of time, as well as select different "dither" modes for each image, which increases its quality when used with CD+G.
- "MP3+G" support: the DART CD+G Player utility now supports playback (only) of the increasing popular "MP3+G" karaoke format. At this time, our software does not allow users to create the *.mp3 files needed for this purpose. (Note: this "format" actually consists of two identically named files, one with a *.mp3 file extension (the audio) and one with a *.cdg file extension (the graphics).
- More CD+G Colors! : The number of available colors, for building CD+G tracks (*.bin files), was substantially increased and made much easier to select. Custom CD+G color selection was never so easy.
- New Fonts and language "scripts": the following new fonts/language scripts are available for use in DART project files (*.dkx) or CD+G tracks (.bin files): Western European, Greek, Turkish, Baltic, Central European, and Cyrillic.
- CD+G Track Recall : settings used for building CD+G tracks (*.bin files), such as number of lines on the screen, font, font size, start/end image, coloring mode etc., are saved in *.dka/*.dkx files. (Note: you must save your project file after building your CD+G track, for this feature to function properly.)
- Updated project file format: DART Karaoke Author files are now saved in a slightly different format and under a different name (*.dkx). The *.dka files, generated by the older versions of the program, are also recognized. The *.dkx file format has been designed to provide for enhanced features and expanded functionality for future releases. The new Duet Flag feature is just the first result of this new format system.
- Updated DART Playlist: now supports use of the newer *.dkx project file format, in addition to the original.*dka project file format.

Limitations of Software
DeVocalizer
DART DeVocalizer is a tool for suppression of the lead vocalist’s performance from most stereophonic recordings. The resulting track contains the background music and background vocals from the actual recording.
Most stereo audio sources can be used. Compact discs usually yield the best results. Analog records, cassette tapes, stereo TV and Radio work, too. However, compressed audio files - MP3 in particular - do not yield good vocal elimination because too much information has been lost in the compression. De-vocalization will only work on lead centered vocals recorded on both stereo channels. The original recording must be stereophonic. For instance, it usually does not work on recordings made before the mid-1960s. The separation technique will not work on monophonic sources or if the vocal is not centered on both channels.
Because tracks extracted using DART DeVocalizer apply digital audio signal processing to original artist recordings DART Karaoke yields more excitement than most Karaoke music. (Much commercially recorded Karaoke music is based on re-recordings of the music and not the original.) With DART Karaoke Studio working with original recordings you get better background support.
CD+G CD Support
Karaoke Machines play special CDs with music and graphics synchronized. It’s not video, it’s CD+G.
CD+G is a special CD music format that allows graphical images to be imbedded within the audio stream.
DART CD+G player is used to play CD+G tracks or .bin files (raw Karaoke tracks) or .cdg files (graphics only). The player is part of Karaoke CD+G.
MIDI Karaoke
DART Karaoke Studio does not support MIDI Karaoke music files or .kar files. DART Karaoke Studio is made to create Karaoke music from ordinary stereo recordings, MP3 or .wav files.
Support for CD-R/W drives that read and write CD+G
