Samplitude and Sequoia are high-definition digital audio workstations (DAWs), specializing in recording, editing, mixing and mastering. Both programs utilize an almost legendary audio engine and are independent of proprietary audio hardware as native software programs.

Samplitude Pro X Suite is the perfect DAW for uncompromised audio productions - from arranging and recording, to editing and mixing, all the way to professional mastering and CD/DVD authoring.

Work with a fully customizable interface and experience a DAW tailored to your needs. The precision audio engine with 64-bit support, outstanding mastering quality plugins, 5.1 Surround mixing and its ability to be seamless integrated into your studio make Samplitude Pro X the most powerful audio workstations.

64-Bit support
- For the first time Samplitude Pro X offers you the opportunity to take advantage of a 64-bit application and to use 64-bit plug-ins. Furthermore you can still use of your 32-bit plug-ins. These are operated by an internal bridge and can be combined with any 64-bit plug-ins.

- It goes without saying that Samplitude Pro X works on 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. The main difference is in the amount of RAM available. On a 64-bit operating system a 32-bit application can use up to 4 GB of RAM (twice as much as on a Microsoft Windows 32-bit version), while a native 64-bit application is capable of using far more RAM (up to a terabyte, depending on the system components).

- Similarly even demanding plug-ins or complex mixes can lead to performance increases.

New docking concept
- The Docking System allows for interface adjustments, this means that the program can be optimized for the studio's requirements. Central components of the software can be repositioned or maximized using drag and drop. Choose to either arrange or display the analyzer, file browser or transport console etc.

- The docking concept was further developed and optimized for Samplitude Pro X. So now for example the object editor, visualizations and MIDI editor can be docked neatly. Of course, you can create your own toolbar too.

- By saving your own work spaces you can use customized program interfaces for various situations so that you always have the appropriate tools to hand.

Spectral editing on track level
- Remove unwanted sounds like coughing or clapping, without affecting the original signal audibly. The new spectral editing feature enables track-level spectral editing.

- In this way corrections can be made directly in the arrangement.

- Using a spectrogram, unwanted noises are quickly identified according to their color representation and removed - ideal for short, clear noises.

5.1 Surround mixing
- Samplitude Pro X offers several possibilities for mixing audio material 5.1 Surround. Any number of playback devices may be assigned to all of the Surround master's channels, and the audio material may be divided between the existing Surround busses.

- But not only tracks, also individual objects may be routed directly to the Surround master for editing via the Surround panorama module. Furthermore existing projects can also be mixed in the Surround format.

Tempo track
- With help from the new tempo track you can change the playback speed of any part of a MIDI arrangement. This function gives the user the opportunity to make creative tempo changes and to adjust MIDI arrangements to existing audio material.

- Additionally there are explicit modes for adjusting beat grid and MIDI arrangements to available audio material, or to tap in the beat grid. This function gives the user the opportunity to make creative tempo changes and to adjust MIDI arrangements to existing audio material.

AAF / OMF support
- Data exchange between various DAWs and exporting to various interfaces can cost lots of time.

- Samplitude Pro X now offers integrated OMF/AAF support to simplify data exchange between programs and platforms.

- Together with the EDL export for MAGIX Video Pro X and compatibility to other products from the Samplitude/Sequoia family, Samplitude Pro X can be seamlessly integrated into almost every form of digital audio editing, without slowing down the work flow.

Audio Engine
- Absolute sound neutrality & optimal latency management
- Absolute bit transparency
Samplitude and Sequoia work based completely on bit transparency. This means that all input signals and imported audio files can be dealt with at the same time, independent of your data structure. Therefore the sound is not altered in any way - unless you want it to. No matter what the sample rate or the source format is, the output signal is played back 100% neutrally.

Hybrid Audio Engine
The Hybrid Audio Engine includes a combination of a Low Latency and High Latency Engine. The Low Latency Engine reduces response times when calculating real time effects and enables accurate Live Monitoring at lower latencies. The integrated High Latency Engine, on the other hand, brings about more effective system utilization, which allows for the integration of sophisticated effects, software instruments and other plug-ins.

The Hybrid Audio Engine is based on the ASIO driver system and, thanks to its low input/output delay at the same performance levels, optimizes the system - at full latency compensation of course. This enables the software to be adjusted perfectly to the requirements of the current production processes.

Absolute sound neutrality & optimal latency management

Workflow & Features
The only customizable DAW docking, object editing & work areas

Object editing
As well as the classic track-related editing options, Samplitude Pro X also features object-level editing. This opens up new possibilities for processes like mixing and sound design. The audio material can be split into as many objects as you like and moved around on tracks freely. Every object may be edited with custom effects and fades, e.g. equalizer, time stretching, pitch shifting or VST plug-ins. Even AUX sends are possible at object level. This means that the particular AUX send is only active for this particular object. This makes time-consuming automation obsolete.

The object editor provides real-time access to every setting for the object. All settings at the object level are calculated non-destructively during playback. Therefore no new files are created. This saves space on the drive and also provides the option of changing settings at any time. Each object can be processed with the complete palette of included effects and inserts for DirectX and VST plug-ins.

For example, you may discover that individual words from a vocal track require a pitch adjustment, so you could split each word, even every syllable into a single object. These individual objects may be corrected with the real-time pitch correction function or edited in terms of volume and panorama or using other plug-ins.

Recording
Uncompromised recording - precise and flexible

Recording
An outstanding strength of Samplitude Pro X is its absolute sound neutrality. Highly advanced digital algorithms, absolute phase stability and continuous use of floating point calculations ensure that the sound retains its nuances, even following extensive digital processing. That means transparency, neutrality, and the retention of transients and space.

Different audio formats from 16 to 32 bits and sample rates of up to 384 kHz can be employed in the same arrangement. Furthermore, up to 999 tracks can be used simultaneously in a project. The maximum number of physical in and outputs amounts to 256; this enables even the biggest and most demanding projects to be managed without any problems.

Perfect recording sessions
Samplitude doesn't just save the audio and MIDI files that are being recorded, but also information about the time position and track. This means that existing recordings will not be destructively overwritten during loop recordings, but at the same time new tracks won't be constantly added until the project is unrecognizable, either.

If for example you recorded multiple takes from different guitar parts, you can quickly and simply create an optimal guitar arrangement from the various takes using the Take Manager.

Editing
Editing at the highest level & diverse range of functions

Object-oriented workflow
As well as the classic track-related editing options, Samplitude also features object-level editing. This opens up completely new possibilities for processes like mixing and sound design. The audio material can be split into as many objects as you like and moved around on tracks freely. Every object may be edited with custom effects and fades, e.g. equalizer, time stretching, pitch shifting, and various VST plug-ins; even AUX sends are possible at object level.

This means that the particular AUX send will only be active for a particular object. Objects can even be frozen individually. This makes most time-consuming automation unnecessary. The object editor provides real-time access to every setting for the object. For an even better overview, there's an object manager that shows all objects at a glance according to their track.

Non-destructive editing
Nearly all editing may be done virtually, without the need to alter audio files destructively. Even a simple normalization, which normally needs to be calculated into the affected file, may be carried out in Samplitude and Sequoia in via non-destructive processes. The advantage of this working method is the effective time savings it provides (the result is immediately audible) and the absolute freedom it allows during editing. Every step, every setting may be changed however you like later or even undone.

Ranges & markers
Ranges are normally used to specify cuts that are able to be made with important editing operations like cut, copy, normalize, etc. This is also the case in Samplitude Pro X.

Of course, the controls in the range functions have been expanded. There's hardly any manipulation that can't be made. Ranges can be stretched sample-exact via drag & drop with the mouse, saved endless times, and the range edges may be moved exactly with the mouse and the keyboard.

Besides direct manipulation via the transport controls, a convenient marker manager is provided to make overviews for CD layouts, CD index options, CD text, and ISRC code even easier to work with.

Spectral editing on track level
Remove unwanted sounds like coughing or clapping, without affecting the original signal audibly. The new spectral editing feature enables track-level spectral editing. In this way corrections can be made directly in the arrangement.

Using a spectrogram, unwanted noises are quickly identified according to their color representation and removed - ideal for short, clear noises.

Mouse tools
Samplitude Pro X has a range of Mouse Modes on offer. These are tools for various different tasks like selecting, editing, marking, cutting, drawing automation, or time stretching/pitch shifting. What's especially interesting in this case is "Universal" mouse mode, which switches between the upper and lower half of a track depending on the position. While the upper half is used toe stretch and move ranges, the lower half is used for selecting, moving, and duplicating objects.

Comping
Comping describes combining several takes into a "perfect" take. In the take composer, all of the recorded takes for a passage are displayed in ascending order within the context of the complete arrangement for easy comparison. For editing, the take composer offers a special modified cutting tool.

Groove extraction & drum replacement
This function expands the standard quantization options by enabling rhythm and phasing to be extracted from recordings and loops so they can be subsequently used on others recordings. These Groove Templates are ideal for solving timing problems creatively so everything fits into the arrangement nicely.

The so-called "Drum Replacement" function provides an intuitive method for editing songs. Simply replace certain instruments from a live percussion recording or add your own audio material. For example, replace a certain element like toms or snares with audio files or exchange the bass drum with an electronic effect.

Samplitude mixer
The functions featured by this integrated mixers include:
- Loading/Saving VST presets
- 5.1 Surround
- Up to 64 inserts per channel
- Real-time effects in the master section: advanced dynamics, multiband dynamics, multiband stereo spread, DeHisser, FFT filter
- Freely configurable effect series
- Settings and views of the mixing desk can be saved as presets
- Offline mixdown function in all supported formats
- Record Monitoring function with effects
- Pan characteristics, stereo basis broadening customizable for each mixer track
- High-resolution analyzer, level display and stereo meter.
- Complete latency compensation of all channels, buses, etc.

Automation on track & object level
Of course, all kinds of track automation are possible in Samplitude Pro X. No matter whether touch, latch, trim, or overwrite; all of the parameters of plug-ins or the track may be automated as needed. The curves themselves may be drawn in in detail and conveniently defined via handle points.

In Samplitude Pro X every object can be adjusted with an entirely separate automation. This can also be done without any annoying menus, simply by using the mouse handles. What's more, you can also add another object automation for another parameter on a track that already features automation at the track level. To make sure everything stays clearly laid-out and easy to use, you can select between the track and object automation display directly in the track editor beside the track at any time.

The special feature of object automation is that effects and automation are connected directly with the object. That means that the objects and their automations may be moved or split however you like; the data remains connected to the object at all times. Since the object processing is present prior to the track processing in the signal flow, object automation is still able to be edited creatively with the following track automation.

Mastering
Finalize your own projects use top quality plug-ins

Mastering & authoring
Samplitude Pro X enables high-definition stereo and Surround audio DVDs to be burned straight from the arrangement. +R/-R/+RW/-RW blank discs can be used. Audio files are burned uncompressed (linear PCM) according to the DVD audio standard.

Audio files can be exported and burned in Surround or stereo format according to the DVD audio standard this makes it possible to burn high-definition stereo and surround projects directly from the multi-track arrangement. The project does not have to be exported first. The effects available in Samplitude provided for the mastering process are extremely powerful.

Mastering effects
- The effects featured in Samplitude Pro X are high quality, reliable - ideal for the mastering process.
- All effects can also be used on the master channel in Samplitude Pro X.

The effects such as the sMax11 limiter, multiband enhancer, and of course the EQ116 or the Analog Modeling Suite, as well as the proven dynamics effects have been especially developed and optimized for mastering purposes.

Analyzer section
Samplitude Pro X uses a precise meter and analyzer, which provide optimal support in the mastering process. The visualizations have been completely reworked and have a new design. The interface allows you to design multi-visualizations individually. You can integrate the visualization interface into the Docker or open it in its own standalone window.
The following meter and analysis are available to you:

Peakmeter with RMS metering
- Surround meter
- Spectroscope
- Spectogram
- Phase oscilloscope
- Stereo meter (correlation gauge)
- Direction meter
- Bit meter

MIDI
Professional MIDI editing

General MIDI features
Samplitude Pro X offers an extensive range of MIDI functions - MIDI data may be imported and exported at any time via keyboard, MIDI keyboard, or via the mouse and then processed with internal editors. Of course, VST instruments may also be integrated and controlled with the editors mentioned. No matter whether VSTis or synthesizers from Samplitude Pro X or external VST plug-ins; they can all be edited and played back with the various editors.

The MIDI editor integrates different sub-editors, views, ranges, and tools. For example, the piano roll, drum editor, score editor, controller editor (e.g. velocity, MIDI volume, etc.), and a list editor are all available.

Various editors
Samplitude Pro X features a variety of editors. The familiar piano roll mode provides an exact display of the start of the notes, their length, and their pitch. Of course, the notes may also be copied, moved, extended, shortened, and played back here directly. You also have complete access to the VST instruments used and you can also specifically set and change any parameter like velocity, sustain, and other effects. MIDI quantization is also possible without any additional steps.

Of course, there's also a sophisticated drum editor especially for the drums. This allows you to "map" the notes played onto each other and to assign specific quantization or even a new (MIDI) output channel to each drum element as required.

The drum editor may be operated in two different modes.
- Matrix mode: Conventional note display with exact indication of note start, note length, and pitch (piano roll)
- Cell mode: Special display with adjustable note width (pencil width) and definable view quantization grid per instrument

The MIDI and drum editor's integrated controller editor is able to display and edit up to 4 MIDI controllers, pitchbend, and aftertouch simultaneously, whereby the user may decide which if the four controllers are visible.

The Score editor displays the score of a MIDI track in realtime. If you move or extend MIDI data, these changes are immediately reflected in the score. If you insert a new note in the score editor, a corresponding "MIDI note on" event is created immediately. Individual notes can be created by clicking, whereby the pitch, velocity and length parameters can easily be selected for one or several notes. You can also easily move, transpose, copy, insert, or delete notes with the mouse. Score sheets may also be printed, of course.

MIDI velocity dynamics
"Velocity Dynamics" as real-time effect (MIDI effect) or offline effect allows you to edit the attack dynamics of the MIDI notes. Adjust the MIDI velocity to the connected synthesizer, e.g. to adjust MIDI synths or VSTis, thereby compressing or expanding the velocity strength of the selected event. Besides diverse useful presets, this tool also includes a randomize function that provides very diverse settings.

Studio integration
Clear benefits for everyday studio use - all formats and interfaces

Manager section
Samplitude adjusts to your system and your hardware without any problems. In addition to being able to control nearly all parameters via hardware with the built-in "hardware learn" function, you also have the option of using the routing manager. Particular tracks may be specifically assigned to the desired in and output channels and AUX buses here.

Import and export formats
Import and export is possible as WAVE, AIFF, MP3, WMA, FLAC, AAC. Broadcast WAV, OGG, AIFF, Wave or Real Audio up to 348 kHz. Additionally OMF and AAF formats are supported for cross platform data exchange.

Interfaces
Samplitude Pro X offers all interfaces that you require in your daily studio workflow. Besides VST, DXi and ReWire are also supported and may be integrated seamlessly. MME, ASIO, and WDM are all supported as important driver models.

Advantages of a native system
The advantages of Samplitude Pro X clearly lie in the fact that it is a native system; no matter whether it is used on audio workstations featuring dozens of in and outputs or on a laptop, Samplitude may be used anywhere. Hardware Independent, you can simply pre-produce your interviews on a laptop and then complete them later using a studio system.
The source material itself also influences your production. Mono and stereo files on the same track, different sample rates; Samplitude is able to work with any material on any system.

Effects & instruments
The full selection of quality instruments & effects

Samplitude Pro X plug-ins
- essentialFX
- Vintage Effects Suite
- VariVerb Pro
- Independence incl. 12 GB Premium Library

EQs
Samplitude Pro X also includes first-class equalizers. Particularly noteworthy is the EQ 116. This 6-band EQ works either with oversampling or with phase linear algorithms, proving its proficiency in mixing as well as in mastering. The mixer and arranger mode also feature access to an equalizer featuring four bands for every channel (including the master channel), submix, or aux bus. If this isn't diverse enough for your work, then you can access an equalizer for each individual object. Of course, all equalizer areas feature their own individual presets. The different settings for these equalizers may also be activated in real time in order to provide comparisons of different settings directly.

Extra In SAMPLITUDE PRO X SUITE
Analogue Modelling Suite Plus
The Analog Modeling Suite Plus includes four high-quality effects plug-ins that model analog audio tools which simply can't be left out of any mastering process.

This includes a high-quality analog compressor (am-track) with optional simulation of studio tape machine saturation effects, a transient designer (am-pulse) for influencing the signal envelope of percussive audio material, a tube pre-amp/channel strip (am-phibia), plus a mastering dynamics tool (am|munition) with compressor, limiter, clipper and M/S editing.

am|muntion
am-munition is an extremely versatile dynamics tool for editing groups or signal sums, especially in the domain of mastering. It has separate units like compression, filtering, side-chain, limiter and clipper. Moreover you can edit middle and side signals separately in M/S mode. All modules and parameters are optimized to perform their fundamental functions without any compromises: effective enrichment of the program material without causing bothersome artifacts, a high maximum volume, and an analog control mode with individual sound signature.

am|pulse
Percussive and dynamic signals, or rather their oscillation processes, may be edited in detail with this plug-in. Therefore this transient designer is ideal for editing the attack and sustain of drums or string instruments. Moreover, among its other optimization mechanisms am|pulse boasts saturation control and mix function, especially due to its harmonic control mode.

am|track
The notable combination of analog compressor and tape simulation is mainly suited to editing individual channels or sub-group signals. am-track features two completely different compressors, each with its own independent control and sound methods. AS well as the VCA mode, which covers the typical sound of VCA compressors featuring a control circuit & feed-forward control of detector selection, there's the Vintage mode, which uses an FET (field-effect transistor) element to create a more aggressive sound. Furthermore the tape selection feature enables tape saturation effect to be imitated, which catches soft transients and sends them through the "tape".

am|phibia
am|phibia is a combination of a tube amplifier and channel strip, that combines a high-quality Opto compressor with a pre and post filter. This means that am|phibia is especially suited for editing vocal and acoustic instrument recordings. This plug-in can be used for achieving pure timbre of any audio material thanks to the built in tube amplifier simulation.

Vandal
Vandal is the only guitar and bass amplifier that combines the characteristic sound and feel of a real hardware setup with the advantages of a software application all for you to enjoy on your computer!

Every step and component of the amplifier, from the tube to the speaker coils, is virtualized.

Physical modeling technology guarantees great sound without compromise, whether during studio recording sessions, band rehearsals, or live gigs!

Individual style
Vandal brings more than just a new design and operation concept to virtual guitar and bass amplifiers; borrowing from classic guitar lineups, the plug-in signal goes through the stomp box, amplifier, speaker, microphone, and any possible echo/reverb effects, in which case every kind of clean, crunch, hi-gain, and lead tone is shaped using a unique, universally emulated amp.

In contrast to emulations which use impulse response, individual play methods and guitars receive the same significance as real tube amplifiers.

Independence Sampling Workstation
Independence is the ultimate sampling workstation for professional music production in the studio and for live productions - Independence Pro and Independence Basic also available now. Independence's Audio Engine has been redeveloped and improved, it now contains the Time-Stretching & Pitch-Shifting options. Using the innovative Multi Core support you can specify the number of kernels on your computer should be reserved for Independence. This ensures that Independence has the highest amount of CPU resources at its disposal, causing problems for other processes.

First-class sampling technology
Another milestone is the option to load VST effects, VST instruments and plug-ins from third parties into Independence, so that you have instant access to both your own VST effects and instruments and other sample libraries too. The "browser" page in Independence allows you to search and import any MIDI file in an instant. You can also search for all other types of Independence files such as projects, layer sets and layer sets and sections - with all kinds of attributes.
