The MIDIoverLAN CP has everything to make the work with MIDI software much easier than ever before!
Using computers in musical studio has become very common. Now computers not only work as sequencing equipment, but also as multi-track digital audio workstations. In modern studio environments many computers may be networked locally so that they can share MIDI data, which makes use of MIDI cables and hardware MIDI interfaces unnecessary. Not only does such a local network (LAN) reduce the necessity of using external MIDI hardware, but it may also drastically increase the efficiency and flexibility of such a multi-computer studio.
MusicLab has been working hard to make their MIDIoverLAN communicate not only between several MIDI apps on a single machine, but between those on several computers, which finally led MusicLab to creating a new enhanced version of MIDIoverLAN. It's now called MIDIoverLAN CP - the MIDI cross-platform solution for communication between MIDI applications both local and over network.
Why cross-platform? MIDIoverLAN CP communicates not only PC computers. This solution can now communicate with PC and Mac computers into a unified MIDI network.
Ever wished to flow MIDI stream over the local network without torturous setups of MIDI interfaces and cables? Want to get a fast MIDI connection between different applications in your computer? MusicLab is proud to announce the MusicLab MIDIoverLAN CP - cross-platform solution for these problems.
MusicLab MIDIoverLAN CP is a simple, robust and unique utility that allows you:
1. Connect MIDI applications running on several locally networked computers. Now you can easily receive/transmit MIDI events from/to remote computers via local network so that you can:
-Synchronize sequencers on several computers
-Synchronously play from several sound sources located on different computers
-Play jam sessions on several computers
-Record music playing back on remote computer
2. Open more than one MIDI program! It can share its own ports between (up to 4 for PC version) your favorite MIDI programs.
3. Create local MIDI Pipe devices supporting fast MIDI events transfer from MIDI OUT port to MIDI IN port i.e. it allows to direct MIDI OUT stream from one MIDI sequencer to MIDI IN port of another one (Mac version supports "local" mode via localhost).
In any case mentioned above you could install your studio connections without traditional MIDI cables wherever it's possible!
MusicLab MIDIoverLAN CP is a good choice if you want to:
-Receive/transmit MIDI events from/to remote computers via TCP/IP network
-Synchronize sequencers or play MIDI over local network
-Run your favorite softsynths on dedicated computer
-Combine the best of all MIDI programs
Features:
-The most MIDI time accuracy possible.
- The highest throughput, the lowest latency you have never seen before!
- No IP addresses any more, just computer name configuration!
- Convenient control panel
Example application of MIDIoverLAN CP:
MIDIoverLAN CP provides up to 16 NetPort MIDI devices. These ports may be shared in any appropriate way. One (or more) computer may run, for instance, GigaStudio or any other sampling application, while the other may run a sequencer, like Sonar, Cubase or any other. Using MIDIoverLAN CP, the sequencing computer plays the sequence into the sampling machines.
MIDIoverLAN CP Version 3.0 New Features:
- MolCp3 is now completely free of IP addressing; hosts are addressed by computer name
- MolCp3 doesn't use TCP/IP networking protocol
- Control Panel has built-in live test tool for selected MIDI output
- MIDI IN/OUT monitoring is improved
- "Send Quantization Time" global parameter is added
- "Send immediately" option (individual for each output port) is added
The standard edition provides up to 16 "LocPipe" / "NetPort" MIDI devices to transfer MIDI stream between several MIDI/Audio oriented applications (sequencers, samplers, softsynths)
