Spin It Again is focused on making things as easy as possible and does a remarkable job of helping you get started. It goes beyond any other software in terms of ease of use by including a guided "Hook Up Wizard" that includes step by step instructions, with pictures, on how to connect your tape deck or turntable to your computer.
Once you have everything connected, you can choose to Record a Vinyl LP, Record a Cassette Tape or load a sound file you've already recorded. If you decide to record, the help continues, with Spin It Again offering a wizard to select and adjust the levels. Once you are ready, you hit record and you are ready to go. After recording (or loading a sound file that was already recorded, such as an MP3 or WAV), Spin It Again offers to automatically detect the tracks in your recording. The software plays the beginning and the end of each track so that you can confirm the tracks, or move the track markers if necessary.
There are a number of presets available to make the noise removal process easy, but you can also customize them if you prefer. Customizing also allows you to add any VST or DXI effect on your system and use it in the process as well. As a bonus, you can adjust the speed of the over all file, should your tape be stretched. (You can't adjust the speed of individual sections of the music, however.)
After removing the noise, Spin It Again offers to burn a CD, or save your new music as wav, MP3, WMA or even OGG format.
Overall, Spin It Again is the ideal tool if you want something fast and easy to use. If you are looking for high-end noise reduction tools with the ability to analyze a noise footprint, well, you need to spend a bit more money than what Spin It Again costs!
