MELODYNE 3 UNO - http://kellysmusicandcomputers.com/savemoney.asp?c=AP-6390
Our Price:$159.99 We save you: $39.01
Melodyne uno offers you the celebrated Melodyne technology in the most compact and affordable format. Melodyne uno dispenses with the multi-track Arrange window of the larger versions of Melodyne and operates like a normal sample editor: all you do is load in a file, edit it, save your work, and you’re done. There couldn’t be a simpler or more intuitive way to benefit from Melodyne’s unique editing possibilities.

In addition to the most important tools offered by the larger versions of Melodyne, Melodyne uno offers two highly useful operating aids: the Correct Pitch and Quantize Time macros. The Correct Pitch macro allows you to correct the pitch of out-of-tune notes and eliminate ugly pitch drift from a recording with two mouse clicks. The Quantize Time macro offers you just as quick and convenient a way of correcting timing errors — notes that sound too late or too soon or are held too long or not long enough.

Key features

- perfect for fine-tuning vocals and reshaping melodies

- mono pitch-shifting and time-stretching
- ideal for remixing – facilitates the creative restructuring of melodies

MACROS FOR CORRECTING PITCH AND TIMING

With only two clicks, you can improve or (if you prefer) perfect the intonation or timing of all or any of the notes in your audio file.

The Correct Pitch macro allows you to correct the pitch of out-of-tune notes and eliminate ugly pitch drift from a recording with two mouse clicks. This will not affect whatever vibrato is present in the recording. Melodyne uno is capable of distinguishing vibrato (which is generally intentional) from pitch drift (which is not).

The Quantize Time macro offers you just as quick and convenient a way of correcting timing errors — notes that sound too late or too soon or are held too long or not long enough.

Melodyne quantizes audio as easily as sequencers quantize MIDI – only far more intelligently! You can use it not only to tidy up timing irregularities within a performance but also to transform creatively the rhythm of all or parts of your recording — and in any number of ways. It’s child’s play, for example, to transform 4/4 into 12/8 to make a stiff performance ‘swing’ or remap the accents to a new grid so that a completely different rhythm emerges.

PITCH SHIFTING AND TIME STRETCHING

You can perform time stretching, pitch shifting or formant correction without even thinking; just grab the notes already recognized by the software and move them around in pitch or time and everything will sound as you would musically expect it to. Or you can move the tempo slider during playback, and you will hear the music accelerate or slow down without this in any way affecting the pitch.

Detecting notes from your recording

If you want to edit a melody, just load the audio file and after a short pause (while the software detects the individual notes) the editor will open. The notes appear in their actual positions in terms of time and pitch, and you will also see the exact phrasing of a melody line.

Now you can simply grab a note and move it to any pitch or time position you like. The transition between notes is handled at all times in a way that makes musical sense, and automatic formant correction always makes the moved note sound the way you expect it to.

Change your music while it plays

All changes can be made on the fly even while the melody is running — you will hear your changes take effect as soon as you move the notes. You can also make the moved notes snap to the nearest semitone or to a defined musical scale, or even define a new scale for the entire melody or selected notes by clicking the scale selector buttons on the left hand side of the editor:

With all changes, the phrasing inside a note, e.g. vibrato, will be kept — but you can also edit the phrasing by reducing or adding vibrato or changing the transition curve between notes. Extreme reduction would result in the unnatural ‘straight pitch’ that is a marked feature of many recent pop songs.

Of course, you could copy and paste notes or melody lines to arrange them in a different way. Formants can be adapted to emulate male or female voices and even convert a trumpet into a trombone.

Timing changes on the fly

It’s just as easy to change the timing of a note as its pitch: just grab it and move it to the desired position. Depending on which tool you choose, the notes following the moved note will be shortened or moved backwards or forwards in time.

If you time-stretch a note, it isn’t stretched uniformly after the crude fashion of rival software; instead, the attack remains unchanged, so consonants at the beginning of words do not lose their intelligibility and the characteristic starting transients and incidental noise that play a vital part in helping us to identify different instruments are preserved —the sound of the fingernails on a plucked string, for example.

If you stretch a whole melody, the same applies: rather than performing simple time stretching, it is for the most part only the tonal phase of notes and syllables that is stretched, whilst the starting transients retain their character. For speech, Melodyne uno will automatically separate the syllables to make time changes consistent. This makes synchronization very easy.

The playing speed of an audio file in Melodyne uno is completely arbitrary. You could take a short snippet of music and slow it to a hundredth of its original speed – without changing its original pitch, of course — and in this way discover the latent microstructure of the musical events.

THE EXPERT TOOLBAR

The detailed editing of selected notes

Like the larger versions of Melodyne, Melodyne uno allows you to edit all or any of the characteristics of the selected notes: you can alter their pitch, formants, volume, length or position individually. This is done most easily using Melodyne uno’s Expert Toolbar.

Melodyne uno provides the following tools to assist you:

The Main and Navigation tools

The Main (or ‘Arrow’) tool is context-sensitive, changing its form and function depending upon its position on the screen: you can use it not only to select menu items or functions in the normal way but also to alter the pitch, position and length of notes. Beneath it are the Navigation and Scrub tools; the former helps you move the display to different parts of the file, whilst the latter allows you to play back the file in either direction at any speed — at the original pitch.

The tools for editing pitch

These tools can be used to edit (from top to bottom) the pitch, vibrato, pitch drift and pitch transitions of the selected note(s).

The tools for editing formants

These tools allow you to transpose the formants and formant transitions of the selected note(s) in either direction, thereby altering their timbre.

The tools for editing amplitude

These tools allow you to modify the amplitude and amplitude transitions of the selected note(s).

The time tools

These tools allow you to alter the position or length of the selected note(s); unlike the Main tool (which offers the same functions) the Expert tools are not context-sensitive — which is best depends on the work you are doing.

The note separation tools

These tools can be used to separate or unite notes as well as to create or remove the boundaries between segments.
