Phase X24 Firewire from Terratec Now Available.
Terratec is finally available once again in North America, and that means some of their new products that have been around in Europe for a while are now reaching our shores. One of those is the Phase X24 Firewire.
There seems to be a never ending stream of Firewire audio cards coming from various companies. Terratec differentiates their offering by including a handy protective bag for when you take the Phase X24 on the road. They've also included Cubase LE, Wavelab Lite so you can start recording music right away.
The Phase X24 offers phantom power that can be independently switched on for each of the two combo input jacks. Two insert jacks make allow the Phase X24 to work with any outboard gear you already have in your studio. In addition to the 4 line-outs (2 for main and 2 for monitoring), the Phase X24 includes an adjustable headphone output and a digital optical in/out, along with MIDI I/O.
The Phase X24 is a solid Firewire audio interface that includes a good software bundle to get you started, and the added bonus of insert jacks, should you have external gear you want to connect.

Garritan is well known for making affordable, great sounding virtual instruments and libraries, and this is no exception. The only downside is that you must own Kontakt 2 (or higher) in order to use this library.
