Band in a Box 2006...
Right on schedule, PG Music announced the release of Band in a Box 2006. Some of the new features in Band-in-a-Box 2006 for Windows include a new "Conductor" feature for live looping during playback. While your song is playing you can now easily control the playback (looping or jumping to another section) with a single key on your QWERTY or MIDI keyboard. The TC-Helicon Audio Harmonies have been enhanced with "Unison Harmonies" and a Choir Feature. If you have a pro audio soundcard, you will be glad to see that ASIO support has been added allowing you to use a software synthesizer with almost no latency. As well, VST support has been added so you can now use VST and DXI soft synths. Styles can now have different instruments for each substyle (finally!)

I've never been a fan of the notation features, as I usually export to Sibelius, but for a quick score, there are some notation enhancements such as support for symbols like section letters, slurs, legato, accents, staccatos, crescendos and more. Just in case there wasn't enough packed into this program, the Ear Training feature has been enhanced with "Pitch Invasion" and "Music Replay" games. I guess this will be useful if you get bored, or have kids that want to practice their music skills.

You can find out the full list of new features here. If you already own Band in a Box, you can purchase the upgrades from us. If you have Band in a Box 2005, you can purchase the Band in a Box Upgrade. If your version of Band in a Box is older than 2005, then the Crossgrade is what you are looking for. Band in a Box MegaPak 2005 owners will want to get the MegaPak Upgrade and if you don't have the MegaPak but want all of the styles, soloists and everything else PG Music has made for Band in a Box, consider buying the MegaPak Crossgrade - it is an excellent value and will upgrade you to the MegaPak from any version of Band in a Box.
