2005 Catalogue - Finally Done!
It is finally done! It was a lot of work, but our brand new 2005 Music Technology Buyer's Guide is now available. You can request a free copy on-line. This is our first full color catalogue, and includes buyer's guides, a music technology glossary and some really cool comparison charts for MIDI keyboards and soundcards.

If you order one, let us know what you think of it when you receive it!

Creating a print catalogue is very expensive and time consuming, and in today's digital world, we always have to ask ourselves if it is worth doing. Personally, I prefer using the internet to find the information I need - for example, the Kelly's Music web site has much, much more information than we put in the catalogue - including detailed specs, pictures, downloads, reviews, etc. However, I can understand that there is something about being able to hold the information in your hands, and browse it "off-line". What do you think?

M-Audio's Blackbox
One of the really "cool toys" at NAMM was M-Audio's Blackbox. Co-developed by M-Audio and Roger Linn Design, the Black Box combines amp modeling, beat-synced effects and drum tracks with an USB audio interface for computer-based recording. Like Line 6's POD, the Black Box can be used for stand-alone amp-modeling and effects. It also offers 99 built-in drum patterns with tap tempo for playing along with different grooves and tempos.

As we've come to expect from M-Audio, the price is right - less than $300 US! You can pre-order now to be first on the list to receive one!

M-Audio's New Digital Keyboard
We finally have pricing and a few more details on M-Audio's ProKeys 88 debuted at NAMM. A full size keyboard with weighted action, the real attraction of this new keyboard is the sound/price ratio - it sounds great, but is around $600 US. Based on samples from a well known software synth vendor, the ProKeys 88 features a number of piano sounds, as well as bass and a few other instruments.

Based on the sounds coming from the keyboard at NAMM, we expect them to be very popular. You can pre-order now to be at the top of the list.
