Use Kinetic in Sonar...
Now SONAR users can patch Cakewalk Kinetic's GrooveSynth directly into SONAR by downloading the GrooveSynth Update. Kinetic offers many useful features for SONAR customers. With the Update you will be able to access genuine Roland® sounds right in SONAR. Kinetic also provides a fun step-sequencing environment to create pattern files. These pattern files can be used directly inside SONAR. Because Kinetic is a ReWire client, you can start your compositions there and easily finish them in SONAR. You also get new patterns, loops and patches, and because Kinetic supports acidized groove clips, you can use existing libraries inside Kinetic. When combined with Kinetics arrangement recording tools, SONAR users get a new, unique and fun way to sequence loops in real-time.

The update is a great new feature, plus, if you own Sonar, you can get a discount on Kinetic!

Throw away that drivers CD-ROM!
What is the first thing you should do when you get new hardware, such as a soundcard? Throw away the driver CD-ROM! Well, maybe don't throw it out, but don't use it until you've checked the manufacturer's site to see if they have a newer version. Often drivers are updated every few months, but due to the cost, most companies don't create new CDs to replace the ones they've already made for their product.

M-Audio has created a helpful video tutorial on how to download and update drivers.

Cakewalk New Kinetic Software
Cakewalk has just released a new affordable and powerful pattern-creation software. Kinetic is a fun and easy program to use and
has some excellent groovebox features.

Kinetic can be used as stand alone, but it also supports ReWire and can be used with your favorite ReWire host program such as Cakewalk Home
Studio, Sonar or Cubase.

Kinetic also has many similarities to Cakewalk's Project 5, however, there are some major differences such as Project 5 also offers more options for detail and fine tuning, support for DXi and VST instruments, and some additional high quality instruments and effects.

Overall, Kinetic is an amazing value and easy enough to use that even someone with perhaps very little, if any, experience with music and sound software, can start creating their own music immediately!
