Audio Kontrol 1 is an unique USB 2.0 audio interface bundled with three of their popular software titles. It takes advantage of the bandwidth offered by USB 2.0 to offer 192 kHz, 24 bit recording, but it also includes a control surface with freely-assignable buttons and a controller knob.
To ensure that you can take advantage of the three buttons and controller knob, NI has included setup files for popular programs to make it easy to work with. Of course, presets are also included for Xpress Keyboards, Guitar Combos and Traktor 3 LE. Beyond the three buttons, there are "modifier" function which turns the buttons into shift or ctrl-buttons, so you can extend three buttons by to 9 by using the modifiers.
Aside from the unique software bundle and control surface features, the Kontrol 1 also sports some great specs for audio recording. It features a line/mic input with a combo XLR and 1/4" input, and another 1/4" line input. There are four balanced outputs on 1/4" connectors along with a headphone output with A/B source switching and level controls. Nothing has been left out, as MIDI I/O is also included.
