radiaL is a loop-based performance software with a beautiful and unique interface thoughtfully optimized for playing live or composing and designing in the moment. RadiaL includes an outstanding loop CD to get you started – see below for details.
radiaL is based on loop channels represented by circular displays, each with its own performable multi-filter and pitch shifting/time scaling. Almost every aspect of the system can be configured for live performance, studio recording, or sound exploration, controlled from a variety of sources (control surfaces, MIDI, keyboard or mouse).
RadiaL features complete multi-channel audio I/O support, audio and effects routing, and support for VST plug-ins.

The heart of radiaL is the unique Loop channel display, with intuitive controls for volume, panning, sweep and position controls for your audio file. You can change a loop's pitch and speed independently or simultaneously using radiaL's pitch/time grid, and use a click-and-drag filter interface for each channel to set cutoff, resonance and gain controls.
The Matrix Mixer displays signal path routings for every channel, output bus, and VST or radiaL effects plug-in you're using. The Matrix Mixer's audio routing allows effects and busses to feed back into Loop channel inputs and sends, allowing arbitrarily complex audio chains with automatic feedback control.
The Outputs window is the departure lounge for departing radiaL sounds, thoughtfully furnished with dancing meters, built-in saturation and limiting controls, and Virtual Outputs that can be freely routed to physical audio outputs with support for up to 512 channels. radiaL's record feature lets you capture real-time audio output from any output to disk with no interruption in the performance.
radiaL's Effects window organizes your VST effects and gives you quick and easy access to effects parameters. radiaL comes with thirteen plug-ins from the pluggo collection already built-in and includes the new tempo-synchronized dlaye plug-in.
The Channel inspector gives you channel-by-channel low-level control over loop parameters. Transpose your pitch-corrected loop, reverse its direction, or fine-tune playback quantization. You can also control the directional looping and volume crossfades of loop segments or even divide your loop into equal segments for scrambling and unscrambling at the touch of a button.
radiaL's Control Map window lets you create your own personal controller setups tailored to your own hardware and personal style. You can use your computer keyboard, MIDI continuous controllers, MIDI note numbers, or CM Labs' Motormix control surface.
radiaL's File browser organizes your AIFF, WAV, or MP3 audio files and lets you find loops quickly and easily. RadiaL uses browser interfaces for presets, too.

All of the above loop sets are free for use in both performance and recording (meaning there are no restrictions on your use, other than not using them on other sample CDs).
In addition, there is a folder called "not-for-commercial-use" that contains samples and excerpts from the c74 label's releases. Samples from Amnon Wolman, Kim Cascone and Tetsu Inoue can be used for fun, but commercial use (recordings and broadcasts) will require permission from the artists.
